Product overview

ZEELCHEM™ 7000 is a carboxylate–sulfonate–nonionic terpolymer designed for the most demanding cooling water conditions: high hardness, high alkalinity, high pH and high cycles of concentration. Three functional monomers on one backbone give it broad-spectrum control of calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, zinc, iron and suspended solids.

The carboxylate groups provide threshold inhibition and adsorption on crystal faces; the sulfonate groups give calcium tolerance and phosphate inhibition; and the nonionic ester groups improve dispersion and reduce sensitivity to high ionic strength. The result is a polymer that keeps working where single and two-monomer polymers precipitate.

ZEELCHEM™ 7000 is the preferred dispersant for all-organic, low-phosphorus and zinc–phosphate programmes operating at high cycles, and for water-reuse and near-zero-liquid-discharge systems.

Key features & benefits

  • Broad-spectrum control of Ca₃(PO₄)₂, CaCO₃, zinc and iron

  • Superior dispersion of silt, iron oxide and microbial debris
  • Chlorine and bromine tolerant
  • Enables water saving and reduced blowdown

Applications

  • High-cycle cooling towers
  • Zinc–phosphate and all-organic programmes
  • Water reuse and near-ZLD cooling systems
  • Power plant and refinery cooling water
  • Steel plant gas cleaning and direct cooling water
  • RO antiscalant formulations

Typical dose range

Estimates only. Evaporation is calculated as E = 0.00153 × R × ΔT (°C); blowdown B = E ÷ (COC − 1); product feed for cooling towers = B × dose. The right dose depends on your water analysis, metallurgy and operating conditions. Our technical team will confirm it free of charge.

Packaging

60.0 kg net HDPE carboy. Each carboy is labelled with product name, batch number, net weight and GHS hazard information.

Storage & shelf life

Store in closed HDPE containers in a cool, shaded, ventilated area between 5 °C and 40 °C. Avoid freezing and direct sunlight; mix gently before use if slight stratification is seen. Shelf life: 12 months in unopened packing.

Handling & safety

Mildly acidic polymer solution. Use goggles and gloves; avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin contact. Rinse spills with water. Refer to the ZEELCHEM™ SDS (GHS format) before handling.

Frequently asked questions

What is a terpolymer in water treatment?

A polymer built from three different monomers, typically carboxylate, sulfonate and nonionic units, combining scale inhibition, calcium tolerance and dispersion in one product.

When should I choose ZEELCHEM™ 7000 over AA/AMPS?

Choose the terpolymer for high-stress water: very high hardness, high pH, high cycles or high suspended solids, where copolymers begin to lose efficiency.

Does ZEELCHEM™ 7000 contain phosphorus?

No. The terpolymer is phosphorus-free and is suited to low-phosphorus cooling programmes.

What is the typical dosage of Terpolymer?

5–30 mg/L (ppm) as product in cooling water; the final dose depends on water analysis. Use the dosing calculator on this page.
